Plot
While the production team had been keeping the plot of the movie mostly secret. A story leak has been making rounds among the fans. Interestingly, it aligns closely with the recently unveiled short trailer. Salaar is set in the late nineteenth century and revolves around the tale of a pair of characters (as disclosed by the director). Prabhas is set to portray a dual role. One of them being an Anti-Terrorist Squad soldier, and the other a gangster potentially entangled in a broader national conspiracy.
Two individuals, both raised on the unforgiving streets without parental guidance, made strikingly different life choices. One embraced the moniker “Salaar,” signifying “leader,” delving into a life of crime. While the other dedicated himself to serving the nation, fervently striving to eradicate terrorism from India. As the gangster ascended to power, ruling over his domain akin to Yash’s character in K.G.F. The soldier diligently pursued cases linked to terrorism and the elusive figure known as Salaar. On July 6, 2023, the teaser trailer for the movie was revealed, amassing a remarkable 83 million views within a mere 24 hours. Thereby setting new benchmarks for the Indian film industry. The first installment, titled ‘Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire,’ is scheduled for a theatrical release primarily in Telugu, accompanied by dubbed versions in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam languages. Initially planned for an April 2022 release. The film’s launch was postponed due to the simultaneous release of Neel and Hombale’s ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ on the same date. In August 2022, the definitive release date of September 2023 was announced, but the movie will now hit screens on December 22, 2023, marking a clash with the film ‘Dunki.’
